Welcome

Creations of the Light (COTL) is a family-friendly social guild with Christian Leadership. We are a casual player base with characters across the level range. Being casual doesn't mean that we don't play a lot - just that the guild's primary focus is not in-game achievement. Our members are friendly, and very helpful. We run instances when needed, or for fun when enough players are interested. Our guild chat reflects our members - tight-knit, active, and friendly.

Progression Raider Forum

What's that? Where? I don't see it!?!

True, and you won't unless you sign up. We've created a Progression Raider Forum to discuss the deeper questions of raiding, gear, talents, and all that stuff. Why? It's come to our attention that some discussions might be best done outside our casual raider base. Does this mean we are shifting our focus as a guild? No. We are still striving to keep our farm raids as casual as possible and allowing as many folks the chance to sign up as our raid makeup allows.

So what's it then? Why? As you know, we have been running casual farm nights and progression nights in Kara and now ZA. The Progression Forum is meant to allow those that want to be on the first time attempts and learning stages of the fights in our raider core. Discussions in the PRF will center around best talent builds for raiding, gear selection for class roles, raid roles for classes, skill usages to maximize effect, and all the nitty gritty stuff that the more hardcore raider might want to contemplate, but the casual raider may not care about.

But, why? It's our effort to not worry the casual raider about gear, expectations that go above and beyond a casual raider, and the like. Simply put, we want to remain open and inviting to our casual raiders, but we also want to challenge our heavier raiders as much as possible. Part of that challenge will include in-depth discussions on gear/talents that simply would bore the causals and make them less desirous of raiding, and we don't want that.

This also gives us a starting place for our progression runs - a place where we can know that people have challenged themselves to do better, have shared their knowledge, or learned from others. It gives us an idea of who wants to be in progression, and who doesn't, and who wants advice from our raid leaders on how to improve to be more effective. Our future progression runs will first draw from signups from the progression forum group, and then draw from others in the guild to fill out spots as/if needed.

This is our way of trying to give you, our members, the choice of deciding how involved in raiding you wish to be. We require all of our progression team to be able to take advice and apply it to the betterment of the entire raid team. If you want to have your performance reviewed to become better, this is the place. If you don't want to be in progression, or put in the work to show us you want to be a progession raider, this isn't the group you want to be in.
